Engineering
In
recent times, the research and teaching emphasis of the Electro-Optics
Technology Center has evolved towards biomedical applications. On
September 26, 2002, the Trustees of Tufts University established the Department
of Biomedical Engineering. There are many applications of optics
in biomedical engineering including non-invasive imaging, development of
biomaterials and advanced microscopy.
